I have already written about why I chose Australia to study English; I love the Australian lifestyle and multiculturalism you can see living in Melbourne. It is like getting people from all over the world in one city. Planning a study holiday can be a hard task. But if you organise and plan your journey and schooling experience wisely, you can enjoy this wonderful country that is Australia.
In my case, the first step was to find the right college. I had a clear idea I wanted a modern place where the teaching was personalised and recognised as the best in the world. Why recognised? Because in the future when you are looking for a job, the first impression for the interviewer is where you improved your skills in English. Therefore, I suggest keeping this detail in mind when you are looking for a language college.
After searching and some advice from my agent, I selected Embassy English. I chose Embassy English because this school not only offers a course, they provide you a life experience. For instance, when I arrived at Embassy English campus they were my first support because they know the new students come a little afraid. Is true, my first day I felt anxious and confused.
During these five months, studying in Australia has been incredible. I met people from different countries and cultures, and my English skills are getting better. I can even understand different English accents, and I started my Cambridge course to get an international English certification. I can say that I achieved this goal because from the beginning, I had a good guide from my teachers in each level I carried out in Embassy School.
Something I have loved in this process has been the method used by the teachers. Every day, according with the level, they plan classes with games. In addition, they encourage you to lose fear when you need to talk in front of others. Is admirable how teachers have a lot of patience to understand everyone and try to take time to explain when you are confused in some subject.
As I have studied hard, I have fun. Usually in Embassy English, the staff organise activities to create integration between students. For example, the last one was Australia Day. Everybody tasted lamingtons; got an Australian flag tattoo and each course recorded a video about this day.
Moreover, the office of student services always attends to your problems and suggestions. Every week we have trips around Melbourne, conversation club, soccer time and students get to graduate after a long time living this experience.« Previous post
