My Embassy Life: Agustin & Valentina from Argentina at Embassy Oxford


One of the greatest parts of being a student at Embassy English are the experiences. Students come to Embassy not only to improve their English language skills, but also to explore new parts of the world, to take part in diverse cultural activities, and to meet people from all over the globe. This week Argentinian students Agustin & Valentina tells us more about their experience at Embassy Oxford as part of our series, My Embassy Life.

Tell us about yourself!

Hello my name Agustin Pesci and I come from Argentina and I came to the UK with my sister.

What course are you taking at Embassy?na Pesci Co

I’m at Embassy Oxford on the advance course. Before coming to Oxford I finished school and had a holiday.

What was your level of English before you started Embassy?

Before coming to Oxford my level of English was quite good but I need to take the FCE test back home so came to Oxford to improve by speaking and listening.

What made you choose Embassy English?

I chose Oxford because a friend of my sister recommended it to us after she had studied here.

What’s the best thing about learning English with us?

The best thing about Embassy Oxford is the all the staff are very friendly and helpful.

How has your English improved?

I feel that I don’t get so tense and nervous when I speak to other people. I feel that I have improved more my making friends and chatting to them in English.

What’s your favourite memory so far?

My favourite thing about Oxford is all the places I have visited through the social activity programme at the school and my favourite is visiting Christchurch College.

How do you think speaking English will help you in the future?

My improved level of English will help me in the future for further studies and in my future career.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to listen to music and to hang out with my friends. I like to keep in contact with friends by chatting on phone.

What’s your favourite word or phrase in English?

My favourite word in English is GOOD LUCK!

Would you recommend Embassy English to other students?

I would definitely recommend Embassy to friends and family and to students who need to improve their English.

What do you plan to do after your English course?

I hope to continue my English studies and also to sit the FCE test in the near future.

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Valentina and I’m from Cordoba, a province in the middle of Argentina. Before coming to Embassy Oxford, I was studying psychology at the Catholic University of Cordoba.

What course are you taking at Embassy?

Here at Embassy I’m taking the Upper Intermediate English Course.

Why did you want to learn English abroad?

I wanted to learn English abroad because for me it is the best way to learn English and improve.

What made you choose Embassy English?

I came to Embassy English because a friend of my school recommended this programme.

What’s the best thing about learning English with us?

I think the best part of studying here is the organisation and all the staff. They make you feel very comfortable.

How has your English improved?

My English has improved in lots of ways. I have more vocabulary. I can speak more fluently and I can understand better when people speak to me in English.

What has helped you to improve your English the most?

The think that has helped me most to improve was living in a host family with English people and making friends from other countries.

What’s your favourite memory so far?

My best memory that I will take from here is having a coffee with a lot of people from other countries and having a very good time together.

How do you think speaking English will help you in the future?

Speaking English is going to help me in the future because it is one of the most spoken languages over the world.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I like to go out with friends, see a movie, or sleep!

What has surprised you most about this experience?

The most surprising thing is that I could improve my English for only staying here three weeks.

My favourite word in English is “bubble.”

What’s your favourite word or phrase in English?

I would like to thank Embassy for being such nice people to us and for welcoming us in the best way.

What do you plan to do after your English course?

After finishing my English course, I’m planning to continue my studies in Cordoba.
