Being surrounded by English speakers everyday, is proven to to be one of the most effective ways to improve your spoken English. Ezgi from Turkey is currently taking a TOEFL course at our English school in San Diego.   As well as having an amazing time, she now feels much more confident speaking English in everyday situations.  Here’s Ezgi’s story…

Improve your spoken English

I want to be a successful business woman as a finance director in an international company. I’d love to travel as much as I can and my biggest dream is to have a big and happy family one day.

Why did you want to learn English abroad?

Because I had grammar knowledge before I came here but I was terrible at speaking and it was impossible to improve my speaking skills in Turkey. That’s why I chose U.S.

Why did you choose to learn English in San Diego?

When my father came to America he loved SD best than the other cities, so he suggested San Diego.

What are your 3 favorite places in San Diego?

Pacific beach, Balboa Park and Seaport village.

What did you like most about your school?

School staff and everyone is so friendly and smiles always. I like this most about my school.

How has your English improved since studying at Embassy English?

I think the improvement is obvious. Now I feel myself more comfortable when I speak English and also everyday I learn new things. This is very satisfying.

What’s your favourite memory of Embassy English?

Last week at the patio, when we sang a Texas song in front of everybody.  It was a little bit embarrassing but fun:)

What surprised you most about learning English?

Having the ability of speaking English:) Actually I was nervous and worried before I came here but now when I speak with people in school or on the street, it surprises me how I improved so fast. But of course I need to improve much more, sometimes I do funny mistakes:) but that’s okay  I’m so happy with that.

What do you think helped you to improve?

The teachers’ understanding when we make a mistake. It encourages the students I think.

Would you recommend Embassy English to other students?

Yes. Because I am happy to be here. Also my English is improving day by day.

What do you plan to do after your English course?

I’ll travel and discover America for a couple weeks. After that I’ll go back home:)

Finally, what’s your favorite word or phrase in English?

My fave word is without doubt “FLUFFY” I don’t know why but I love it.

Improve your spoken English

Thank you so much for everything. I love speaking English as much as I can and socializing.
