If you have to travel to a far away place, one of the first things you should do is get a map. Because, as everyone knows, a map will help you reach your destination. You are reading this because you have a destination in mind, a Cambridge Exam Course Certificate and all the benefits that go with it. We are writing this because we want to help you get there at Embassy San Diego.
We are Chris Wylie and William Nowatnick, teachers at Embassy English in San Diego. Between us we have decades of experience teaching English as a Second Language, specifically, the Cambridge First (FCE) and Advanced Certificates (CAE.) How we became teachers is a story we would love to tell you when we meet, but for now, we want to talk about how we can help you on your journey.
Make no mistake, studying for the Cambridge exams is a journey, a long one, too. It is a 10-week course that covers 14 chapters of the textbook, plus weekly (sometimes daily) tests on Grammar, Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking.
At the same time, you will learn test taking skills such as what types of essays are expected for the writing assignments, which verbs to use during the speaking portion, and strategies for the reading and grammar questions. And that is just the morning class.
Most importantly, our Cambridge Exam Courses provide an authentic test-taking experience, so you will not find any surprises when the big day arrives.
Don’t worry, you will not be travelling alone. You will have two teachers working for your success, as well as the entire Embassy San Diego staff by your side.
The school provides free tutorial clubs for writing, speaking, and grammar. Even more, you will be in a class of international students all working towards the same goal as you. These will be your crew-mates on your journey to a Cambridge Certificate. Many of them will become your lifelong friends.
Yes, there will be friends and there will be fun because you will be in San Diego! There is a reason they call it America’s Finest City.
The beautiful beaches with their gorgeous sunsets are just the first reasons. Where else can you go surfing and 2 hours later go snowboarding? If nightlife is your thing, The Gaslamp District offers clubs, pubs, and grub. But maybe world class museums and theater are more interesting to you. San Diego has it all. However, if you really have to get out of the city, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Tijuana, and Las Vegas are some of our
So, in the end, we want to congratulate you on taking the first step of your trip. You have decided to earn a Cambridge Certificate. That is a brave thing to do! That choice will take you many interesting places. It is going to be challenging. Sometimes, you might want to give up. But you will remember your goal and you will put in the work and you will arrive at your destination.
We hope you will consider making Embassy San Diego your first stop.
P.S. One more thing, do you have question about the Cambridge Exam Courses or what we do in our class? Or do you want to share with us why you want to take the Cambridge exam?
